(Incidentally, on my installation, "Section Monitor" is followed by a line: Identifier "Configured Monitor" ) The closest I've found to a solution is in this thread:
#Fujitsu siemens esprimo mobile v5535 drivers ubuntu iso driver
From what I've found by googling, I believe this may be the SiS671(or 672?) driver which is mentioned in various threads - not sure, though. Searching /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers, I see there is a driver labelled sis-drv.so already installed. As far as I can work out, its standard refresh rate is 60Hz. The default screen resolution is 800 by 600 (refresh rate 61Hz), with the option of 640x480 (refresh rate 60Hz).Īlthough this is a laptop, Display Preferences shows "Monitor:Unknown." The chipset (and I have to own up - I have NO idea what that is) seems to be SiS M672 (Northbridge)/SiS 968(Southbridge) - which might mean something to someone!Įverything seems to work with Mint 7 except the graphics. I believe it uses SiS Mirage 3+ Graphics. conf or xrandr.Using a Mint USB live flash drive created with Unetbootin, I've been trying to get Mint 7 working on a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535. First, do you have the x11-xserver-utils installed, or just xrandr? Second, I filed a bug which seems to affect you as well, the whole 'xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default' On the installs which I have seen either on my own or in the forums, if you cannot set the gamma using xgamma and your display is not detected properly, you are not able to fix it properly with either xorg. Re: Ubuntu 10.10 and SiS mirage 3 grapichs- edit: my xrandr -q gives: xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1280 x 768, maximum 1280 x 768 default connected 1280x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm 1280x768 0.0* 1024x768 76.0 800圆00 73.0 640x480 73.0 thanks.just another desperate fujitsu V5535 user Last edited by lin9 1 Day Ago at 05:48 AM. # Note that some configuration settings that could be done previously # in this file, now are automatically configured by the server and settings # here are ignored.

Re: Ubuntu 10.10 and SiS mirage 3 grapichs uhhm guys, I did everything as writtenin that other tread (means copied sis driver+ nf) here - but I just can choose 1280 x 768 resolution? - in the nf the 1280x800 mode is listed. Best Linux Distro for Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile laptop? I know they are for Ubuntu. usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers #Edit /etc/X11/nf and set `Driver 'sis671'` on the 'Device' Section & EDITOR=/usr/bin/vim $EDITOR. The video on my mom's laptop, A Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535, had recently gone awry. It is an ath5k driver and the computer sees it. I still have problems getting my Esprimo V5535 from Fujistsu Siemens, to open wlan.
